Eagle Ray - turquoise & ruby tint

Glass Eagle Ray with forged steel tail and post, on Texas holey rock

This eagle ray cruising over ‘coral’ was created by fusing transparent, opaque and iridized glass with murrine and dichroic glass threads and chips. The resulting piece was then highlighted with 24kt gold, draped over ceramic fibre and fired again in a kiln to shape it. A forged steel tail and post were attached before mounting on a piece of Texas holey rock.
